Current Research Area / Interests
My research focus is a collaboration with the Laboratory of Molecular Physiology located in the Robert C. Byrd Biotechnology Science Center. My research investigates the molecular mechanisms associated with mechanical overload induced skeletal muscle plasticity and cell signaling transduction utilizing the Obese Zucker Rat (Leprfa).
A secondary interest addresses the impact of lifestyle changes to combat childhood obesity and chronic disease.
