Derrick Kolling
Derrick Kolling obtained his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology at The Pennsylvania State University. He then received his Ph.D. in biophysics and computational biology at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Princeton University. Derrick’s research interests include the chemistry of photosynthetic water oxidation and the assembly mechanism of the catalyst responsible for this reaction. His lab uses oximetry, fluorometry, and EPR spectroscopy to identify and characterize the various intermediates of these two processes.
